You get someone else to do the negotiating for you.  That’s right, there are services out there who will negotiate better prices for you.  The Kiplinger fellow tells you about three that they “test-drove” to see just how good of a bargain they could get.

Carsdirect.com and DriveOne.com are both services that you have to be a member of something to join.  For Carsdirect, you probably just have to join their group.  For DriveOne, it’s owned by Capital One and is geared toward military folks.

The clear favorite was CarBargains.com.  With them, you have to pay a $190 fee, but the Kiplinger guy said that their price on the car in question was a whole $1000 less than the other guy’s lowest price.  That’s because the member-oriented concierge car-buying companies already have a fixed rate on cars.   CarBargains actually takes your information and shops at five dealers near you, actually negotiating and pitting the dealerships against each other to find you the best deal.

So, no more haggling.  No more stressing. They tell you in the video that a poll showed that 2 out of 3 people would rather pay a sticker price than haggle a price themselves.  That’s some conflict-avoidance, for sure!  Now that you get someone to haggle your price for you, you can get someone to choose your features and add-ons, because maybe it is too stressful to choose your own car accessories, too?

It is easy to get blindsided by the extra-cool features this car has to offer.  The hood ornament is remote-control operated.  Since so many people like to steal the hood ornaments of fancy cars, Rolls Royce took care of that.  There are so many features that Joe covers that you’ll just have to watch the video to see, but this car is VERY luxurious.

Some, even if they could afford it, might be afraid to drive it.  They might want to keep it in a climate-controlled garage, under a custom car cover, with a guard guarding it 24/7.  Might.

Environmental factors can impact your tire pressure, so you should check it every season. That’s what Connie does, and she’s helping the environment, saving money, and teaching the world all at the same time. I was hoping to learn a little more about cars and car parts but I will continue to watch.
