			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Good posture is essential to your health.   It sounds like an old wive&#8217;s tale, but studies have proven that poor posture contributes to spinal subluxations, which in turn compromise the nervous system, which then can adversely affect many different functions of the body.  One way to fight these subluxations is to visit a <a href="http://www.richmondchiro.net/">chiropractor</a> regularly, but it is good to try to prevent them by exercising, and by strengthening the core so that your body is strong enough to keep your spine straight.</p>
<p>In this video, Dr. Neil King demonstrates some important posture-improving <a href="http://www.richmondvachiropractors.com/">chiropractic</a> exercises that can help.</p>
<p>The first exercise has you starting in a tabletop position on all fours.  Lower yourself to the mat, put your arms and legs straight out from the body, and slowly lift the legs and the upper body at the same time.  King shows you the proper way to do this exercise, which is called the &#8220;Superman.&#8221;  Do five of these per day.  They help you with your strength, your mobility, and your flexibility.</p>
<p>The second exercise has you starting on your back &#8211; you press your lower back into the floor and lift the buttocks.  Lift the lower body and hold for fifteen seconds.  This exercise is an abdominal exercise that leads into the best exercise you can do for your abs &#8211; the bicycle.  King shows you how to do it properly so that you&#8217;re not pulling on your head or neck.</p>
<p>Do the first abdominal exercise 5 times per day, and the bicycle for 15 cycles for each leg.</p>
<p>Doing these exercises will help you maintain a <a href="http://www.chiropractorservice.com/">healthy spine</a>, and you&#8217;ll look and feel better, too!</p>

<p>Simpson explains that you should take an herbal formula before your colon cleanse, to make sure you have the most effective treatment.  The herbs sort of &#8220;pave&#8221; the way for all the waste to be eliminated from the body.  Simpson gives you many different product names that help with loosening the fecal matter from intestinal walls.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Now that people are more health-conscious, most would not even consider eating a food that did not have the nutritional information available.  This video talks about reading a nutritional <a href="http://www.mavericklabel.com">label</a> &#8211; deciphering what is important so that you can make good food choices for you and your family.</p>
<p>The first thing discussed is serving size.  Portions in the U.S. are pretty large.  When you look at the label, you&#8217;ll want to note the serving size.  That information might not always be terribly helpful, unless you&#8217;re really good at measuring exactly one ounce of something into your hand.  So, look at how many servings are in the container.  If there are two servings in the container, you know you can eat half of what is in the container and you&#8217;ll be getting one serving size.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s great for when you&#8217;re eating something, but when you&#8217;re shopping it is even more important to look at serving size and the amount of servings per container.  You might buy something that you think has good nutritional value, only to find out that the container actually hold twelve servings of something and that each tiny serving is simply &#8220;not too bad for you&#8221; but to eat enough to satisfy your hunger would be actually very unhealthy.</p>
<p>The next thing discussed is the way the label is broken down.  The most important thing to look at is serving size/amount of servings, but the calorie count is important as well.  It&#8217;s also very important to look at the fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol content.  Too much saturated fat and cholesterol is unhealthy for everyone, even little children.  It is important to start good eating habits early.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s also important to pay attention to how many grams of carbohydrates are in the food.  This is especially important for diabetics, as the carbohydrate count will inform how the food is processed in the body and how much sugar and insulin are produced.</p>
<p>Sodium is also something to look at.  Many, many foods have simply too much sodium.  The average person is only supposed to have a certain amount of each category on the nutrition label per day.  The average daily percentage is based on a 2000 calorie diet.  No matter how many total calories you plan to consume per day, you&#8217;ll want the fat and sodium percentages of the total to be low, and for the vitamin and mineral content to be high.</p>
<p>If you are eating in a restaurant, use your best common sense to stay away from foods that are bad for you.  Stay away from smoked or cured meats &#8211; they have more sodium.  Stay away from cream or cheese-based sauces and dressings &#8211; they have more fat.  Choose fresh vegetables and fruits, and lean protein like fish or chicken.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Sarah Davis is with the Institute of Food Technologists.  She starts off this video talking about the term &#8220;natural.&#8221;  A lot of different food manufacturers can slap the word &#8220;natural&#8221; on their product, but how do you know if it really is?  The FDA and USDA have no rules around the term right now, and some companies don&#8217;t have a <a href="http://www.bsfreemarketing.com/a-marketing-conscience-do-you-have-one/">marketing conscience</a>, so they&#8217;ll tell you it is natural when it really isn&#8217;t.</p>
<p>Natural SHOULD mean that the product has no added flavors, colors, or synthetic substances in them.  Some products do not have these things, but are labeled &#8220;natural&#8221; rather than &#8220;organic&#8221; because in order for something to be called organic it must follow certain very strict guidelines to be called as such.  The USDA DOES have rules about the term &#8220;organic.&#8221;</p>
<p>Even when something IS &#8220;natural&#8221; it doesn&#8217;t necessarily mean that it&#8217;s good for you.  It is important to read the ingredients to make sure there is nothing in the product that can hurt you.</p>
<p>You have to make some judgment calls yourself, as well.  For instance, chicken can be labeled as &#8220;all natural&#8221; even if the meat has been injected with salt water for freshness and juiciness.  Salt water is, in fact, all natural, but the fact that it is added to the chicken during processing makes some people uncomfortable.  It&#8217;s up to you to decide whether that is OK with you or not.</p>
<p>As with anything, you have to use common sense and be educated as to the things that are good for you, and the things that are not so good for you.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As a follow up to our <a href="http://www.ihowtovideos.com/how-to-understand-symptoms-and-treatment-of-lung-cancer/">previous post</a> on this, here we have an information video on the very nature of lung cancer.  If you remember, our last video  starred Angie, a young woman who had never smoked who was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer after experiencing back pain and extreme fatigue.  This video features Dr. Patel, who explains in a scientific way what <a href="http://www.cvtsa.com/">treatment options for lung cancer</a> are available.</p>
<p>Since lung cancer is the cancer most responsible for deaths in the US, it&#8217;s good to know what treatment options there are.  It&#8217;s a disease that usually doesn&#8217;t present symptoms until the late stages, when it&#8217;s hardest to treat.  As we learned with Angie in the last video, sometimes it happens to someone with no risk factors &#8211; no family history, no history of smoking &#8211; but if you&#8217;re someone with risk factors, it&#8217;s good to get screened to make sure you don&#8217;t have an earlier stage.  The earlier you catch it, the more treatable it is.</p>

<p>She starts with getting ready to quit smoking &#8211; what is your motivation?  What types of support will you need?  It&#8217;s most important to get emotionally ready.  She gives you tips on what types of aids like gum, mints, stress balls, and other thing that help in this very difficult process.</p>
<p>The video includes a testimonial by a 20-year smoker who has been tobacco-free for five months now.  She belongs to a support group, and she attributes all her success to that.</p>

<p>A chiropractor can gently examine your baby for spinal misalignments, and then adjust them.  Chiropractic adjustments have been known to cure colic, ear infections, ADHD, and many other childhood illnesses.  As with anything, the earlier you start, the healthier your child will be.</p>
<p>One mother is interviewed and testifies that her child has been ear-infection free since starting chiropractic care.  It&#8217;s not dangerous, and it can greatly benefit your child&#8217;s health.</p>

<p>This video talks to you about planning the birth of your baby.  It covers the where &#8211; hospital, birthing center, home &#8211; and the benefits and drawbacks to each.  It also covers the how &#8211; natural, epidural, C-section, etc, and talks a little about what each procedure entails and what the pros and cons are.</p>
<p>It isn&#8217;t the most detailed video, but it is definitely informative and helpful to someone who might be thinking about the method they want to use to bring their little one into the world.</p>
